Women’s Intro Ride
Do you fancy getting out on the bike with a friendly group of people? Why not ride further than you have before, build fitness or confidence on your bike? Join us for New Malden Velo’s monthly Women’s Intro Ride!
We start at the sign for Woodies’ Freehouse (corner of Thetford Road & Windsor Avenue) New Malden, at 9am stopping for a coffee and cake stop about half way.
The rides vary for distance and pace depending on the group. A typical intro ride be 40-50km at approximately18-20km/hr.
We’d love to see you there and its really helpful to us if you can RSVP to this event. It allows us to ensure that we have adequate support on the ride. If you have any questions get in touch using the

What to Expect
The intro ride is as slow as it needs to be. Its not essential to have a road bike and/or cleats. Those of you lucky enough to own an electric bike are welcome to join too. Even if you’re a fast rider, why not spend a relaxing and social Saturday morning meeting some of the more established club riders? Maybe you can sign up to the next cycling challenge too. There’s no pressure either way – whether you’re a lady who just likes to join us once every couple of months for a social Saturday morning pedal, the next Marianne Vos or something in between, come and give us a try.
Preparing for the day
We take a relaxed approach to rides but we do everything we can to ensure rider safety. Club members are experienced in group riding etiquette. We would recommend that people joining our intro rides read the information on the ride details page. Additionally, you may find the group riding information on the British Cycling website helpful too. Please carry a card with your emergency contact details with you as well, just in case.
*open to anyone who identifies as women/non binary/genderqueer people.
